Doorsteps Neighbourhood Services, with offices on Daystrom Dr., Falstaff Ave. and Chalkfarm Dr., helps provide social support and direction for individuals who are unemployed or under-employed, aids newcomers to Canada, and offers recreational programs for children. The agency also offers information on healthy lifestyles as well as developing volunteer opportunities to provide work experience. Sung-Ju Maeng, a community worker at Doorsteps, says she's proud the agency is part of the United Way family and that the support will help many families in the community. She said the agency offers myriad programs, including a preschool play group and the grandparent/grandchild support group, but one of their most popular services is job-searching.
