Walk of Fame co-founder and chairman Peter Soumalias believes Canadians are finally shrugging off their almost national modesty and want to recognize their true celebrities. The idea of creating the Walk of Fame and stealing a march on that "other walk" in Hollywood was hatched by Soumalias and friends Bill Ballard and Dianne Schwalm over early morning bagels at Toronto's Bregman's restaurant. PHOTO ILLUSTRATION BY RAFFI ANDERIAN, FILE PHOTOGRAPHYThis year's 11 inductees into Canada's Walk of Fame include, from bottom: superstar singer [Shania Twain], funnyman [Mike Myers] as swinging spy [Austin Powers], former Olympic equestrian [Jim Elder], and figure skating legend [Toller Cranston].
