Ever since Elaine Zeitz changed her name to Esther Pollard, she has been telling the world that she is the wife of an American spy convicted of passing state secrets to Israel. Three years after proclaiming herself Mrs. Jonathan Pollard, her own little secret has gotten out: There is no publicly available evidence of her marrying Jonathan Pollard. ``The prisoner Jonathan Pollard did not request permission to get married,'' [Joe] Meko was quoted as telling the Israeli newspaper Haaretz in an article last month. ``This permission was never given and a wedding between him and another person during his stay in this prison never took place.''
