Judge Charles Scullion described the facts of the case as ``a bit bizarre to my mind,'' before finding Brian Paul O'Neill guilty of threatening reporter Nick Pron during a telephone conversation last Dec. 2. ``I have no trouble accepting the evidence of Mr. Pron. After the phone call, he took (steps) to try and protect his family. He was certainly upset by the call,'' Scullion said. The court heard last week from Pron, a 20-year veteran of The Star, and his wife, Dr. Gaylene Pron, that O'Neill called at least four times about 6 a.m. last Dec. 2.
