 Abstract (Document Summary)

Slingbox can handle both old-school analogue cable as well as standard-definition digital cable and satellite receivers. My Slingbox is connected to my router via Ethernet cable, but you can connect using a wireless bridge if you need.

I use Slingbox three ways. First, even at home I connect to the Slingbox from my wireless laptop, which becomes a portable TV. Sitting on the deck watching the Jays is an ideal way to spend a sunny afternoon.

As I mentioned, I watch my Slingbox when travelling. Since it's connected to my PVR, I can record shows when they're on in Toronto to watch when I get back to the hotel. There's more than one video input to the Slingbox, so you could also connect a DVD player or a security camera and watch those while you're away from home.
