State statute requires municipalities to make a good faith effort to have their voting districts follow the lines of county supervisory district maps and Nau said the city's maps "follow those districts to a T." The city also has to create districts with populations between 800 and 3,200 and Nau said the city's districts range from 1,500 to 2,800 people, though one district on the far south side did end up with 900 to 1,000 voters.
