A proposed new elementary school on Ryf Road remains the most significant and controversial part of the district's three-tiered referendum. Critics say the volume of traffic near the interchange of Highways 45 and 41, and Ryf Road's distance from the core population of Oaklawn students, could mean longer bus rides and kill the option for students to walk or bike to school.
