Ray Green Sr. was returning from Linda's funeral on May 22, 2001, with Josi Spencer and her son, Christopher Michael Spencer, 2, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered to the right of Highway 101 in a construction zone between Chualar and Gonzales. Josi Spencer suffered a fractured wrist, received 50 stitches to a facial wound, and bruising and swelling elsewhere.
