Abstract (Document Summary)

Joi (she goes by her first name) released Pendulum Vibe in 1994 and Amoebae Cleansing Syndrome in 1997, but she's probably best known as the woman who replaced Dawn Robinson (EnVogue) in the megagroup Lucy Pearl. The Nashville native remembers attending Ensworth, a private school where she says many people there assumed she was a janitor's daughter, even while she became student body president.
