Tuesday's day-long event consists of more than 70 tour buses picking up the children, taking them to a party with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, participating in a five-mile-long parade of the buses through Hendersonville, and then culminating with a shopping trip at the Hendersonville Walmart in which each child is accompanied by a chaperone and is allowed to spend $150 on whatever they want. A blown tire caused a semi-trailer truck transporting car batteries to cross to the other side of the interstate and land on top of the driver's side of the car that her 47-year-old mother was driving.
