Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 5, 2003 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Ed Steiner officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Covenant Hospice, Pensacola, FL or Cokesbury United Methodist Church, Pensacola. Survived by children, Edward (Dorothy), Howard (Claudia) Burns, Mary (Eugene) Leach, Hattie Ann Whitsey, William (Bea), Stanley (Deloris) Burns, Norma (Charles) Cannon, Rose (LeRoy) Nevils, Bernice (George) Sanford, Betty (Raymond) Gordon and Michael (Teresa) Burns; 34 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lou Willie (Robert) Hickerson and Magdalene (Frank) Elliott; brother, Stanton (Fannie) Scruggs; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
