Abstract (Document Summary)

"We were happy," Clearwater Threshers assistant general manager Jason Adams said. "We weren't sure what sort of walk-up crowd we would get, and we got 1,400 that walked up to get tickets that day, which was more than we'd expect. We didn't know how much it was going to affect the game, because the Cards used to train here in St. Pete. There were a lot of Cards fans ingrained here because of that."

As with Space Coast Stadium in 1996, Bright House Networks Field was one of the stars of the show, as it has been for the Threshers this season. Despite sporting the worst record in all of the baseball at 15-51, the Threshers have one of the highest attendance rates in the FSL, and Adams thinks that played a role in attracting a large number of fans from around the state to Clearwater.

Phillies home games played at Carpenter Complex, 651 Old Coachman Road, Clearwater. Yankees home games played at Yankees Himes Complex, 3102 N. Himes Ave., Tampa.
