LOS ANGELES - The number of liver-related deaths linked to the diabetes drug Rezulin is greater than previously announced. The Los Angeles Times reported Thursday that 155 Rezulin patients have died since the drug went on the market in March 1997.
Warner-Lambert" the maker of the drug that helps control blood-sugar levels" said there were only 35 serious incidents since the introduction of Rezulin" including 28 deaths and seven patients who needed liver transplants because of complications from the drug.
Carole Sund" 42" of Eureka" her daughter Julie" 15" and Silvina Pelosso" 16" a family friend from Cordoba" Argentina" were last seen Feb. 15. The FBI believes they met violent deaths soon after they left a restaurant next to the Cedar Lodge" where they had been staying. No victims were found in the car.Scientists support stem-cell research
