Dunedin Academy seventh-grader Gregory A. Culmone, son of Joseph and Linda Culmone of Palm Harbor, is a first place winner in the 1996 Junior American Citizens contest sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Eighth-grader Jessica Gaffney and seventh-grader Kelly Lake took second place in the competition. Jessica is the daughter of Patrick and Jeannie Gaffney, and Kelly is the daughter of Kim and Gregory Lake, all of Clearwater.

Third-place winners were seventh-grader Billie Jo Gilliam, daughter of Mike and Sharon Fitzgerald of Dunedin; seventh-grader Ryan Mayer, son of Jonathan and Maureen Mayer of Palm Harbor; and eighth-grader Kelly Yeremian, daughter of Howard and Lynn Yeremian of Palm Harbor.
