Abstract (Document Summary)

Ratings for the first "Action Pack" movie posted a significant ratings gain for the independent station. William Shatner's TekWar garnered a 10 rating last Monday, an increase of 44 percent over a comparable time slot in November. In fact, the Tampa-St. Petersburg had the fourth highest rating in the nation among independent stations airing the movie.

[Jonathan] Katz, WTOG manager of publicity, has high hopes about the entire Action Pack, a series of 24 first-run action movies produced by Universal Television. "For us it was a very successful night," Katz said of last Monday. "We are turning toward more first-run programming."

Channel 44 plans to air action movies each Monday throughout February. Tonight, WTOG airs Bandit. A familiar action series returns with a twist on Feb. 7 with Knight Rider 2010. Replacing David Hasselhoff is another hunky (but younger) actor who has three first names, Richard Joseph Paul. The car still speaks, though.
