Abstract (Document Summary)

Q. Since I have two records in the Baseball Hall of Fame, I was wondering how many records are in the Hall of Fame. I wrote Clemente Land in 1973, shortly after Roberto Clemente was killed in a plane crash. And after Pete Rose won the 1973 National League batting championship, I wrote Charlie Hustle. - E. W. "Gene" Miller, Clearwater

A. Yours are among about 220 songs - either sheet music or recordings - in the National Baseball Library, a section of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Among the better-known songs: Take Me Out to the Ball Game; Slide, Kelly, Slide; Willie, Mickey and the Duke; Joltin' Joe DiMaggio; Van Lingle Mungo, Brooklyn Dodgers Jump and Move Over Babe, Here Comes Henry.

Everything in the National Baseball Library is donated, and everyone who makes a donation receives a thank-you letter and a lifetime pass to the Hall of Fame. Donated items are stored and are made available for research and to the general public.
