Abstract (Document Summary)

The only trouble, say members of the Florida Board of Medicine, is that there is no evidence such a syndrome exists outside the imagination of Dr. E. Denis Wilson of Orlando.

They say Wilson, a 1985 graduate of the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, is fleecing patients and insurers with treatments for a phony syndrome.

One of the eight patients listed in the state's case against Wilson did die of a heart attack. Wilson's attorney, Terry Dixon, told the board there's no proof that the death of the 49-year-old woman had anything to do with the thyroid pills.
