JACKSONVILLE - Former Democratic state Rep. Tommy Hazouri overwhelmingly defeated Republican City Councilman Henry Cook in Tuesday's election for mayor of this North Florida city.

With all 219 precincts reporting, Hazouri had 88,482 votes, or 75 percent, to 30,066 votes, or 25 percent, for Cook.
