If the deluge of promotions and "news reports" on WTVT-Ch. 13 haven't clued you in, Fox presents Robbie Kneivel following in dad Evel's daredevil footsteps with a live jump over part of the Grand Canyon; CBS offers a Diagnosis Murder episode killing off the masked magician (Val Valentino) who earned top ratings for Fox in November; UPN taps the wrestling craze with a two-hour series pilot dubbed WWF Smackdown!; and ABC finishes its limp Stephen Baldwin miniseries Dean Koontz's Mr. Murder.

But what's most notable this month is what's leaving: Fran Drescher's The Nanny, off CBS after six tiresome seasons May 19; Fox's nighttime soap Melrose Place, gone after seven seasons May 24; NBC's relationship comedy Mad About You, departing May 24 after seven seasons; Tim Allen's powerhouse ABC sitcom Home Improvement, out after eight seasons May 25.
