Abstract (Document Summary)

But thanks to a combination of exemplary behavior, a legacy of prison crowding and a recent Supreme Court decision, [Thomas] Roselli is getting out much earlier - in October. And what makes his release even more terrifying to the Brunis is that the first place Roselli will live, he says, is less than a mile away from them.

Roselli was living with Bruni's old girlfriend. Bruni owed her $1,000, and the reason Roselli came up to Spring Hill that night wasn't for a social visit but to collect the debt, said Shelley Bruni, Bruni's older sister.

There are two different versions of what happened when Bruni opened his front door about midnight and saw Roselli standing on the doorstep. Roselli said Bruni attacked him, screaming hateful things at the top of his lungs and swinging at his head.
