Abstract (Document Summary)

Luhrs Luhrs, H. Ric, 73, of Shippensburg, PA and Boca Raton, FL died Saturday, November 20, 2004 in the Chambersburg, PA Hospital. From 1962 until his retirement in 2002. He was President and CEO of the Beistle Company, Shippensburg. He is also CEO of Lakeside Holding Company. Boca Raton, FL. Since 1991 he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Shippensburg University Foundation and was a member of the Board of Directors of Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL from 1988 until 1991. He was awarded a Doctor of Public Service Degree from Shippensburg University in December 2000. Mr. Luhrs graduated from Gettysburg College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1953. He then joined the United States Air Force as a commissioned officer, pilot, and one of the first missle officers in the Air Force. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and discharged in 1959 as a Captain. He is survived by his wife, Grace Barnhart Luhrs, they were married June 12, 1973. 1 son: Stephen F. (Husband of Christine) Luhrs, Shippensburg; 3 daughters: C. Michelle (Mrs. Alan) Wiest and Terriann (Mrs. Donald) Hilbinger, both of Shippensburg, and Patricia D. Lacy, Mechanicsburg; 1 sister: Helene D. A. Luhrs, Ardmore. 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Funeral services will be Friday, November 26, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. in the Memorial Auditorium of Shippensburg University. Burial with military honors will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. Friday in Memorial Auditorium. Memorial contributions may be made to: H.
