Dear Dr. [Paul Donohue, M.D.]: I was recently treated in the hospital for a bleeding stomach ulcer. My experience with other people is that ulcers cause extreme pain. I felt no pain at all. I have also been informed that a bleeding ulcer can be fatal if not treated within 15 minutes. What can I do to prevent a recurrence? -- E.L.
