Abstract (Document Summary)

Gov. Lawton Chiles completed a battery of tests on his inflamed colon Wednesday and will return to the Mayo Clinic at the end of the week to learn the results.

The 61-year-old governor underwent nine hours of tests over three days at the Jacksonville clinic to determine the cause and possible treatment of a narrowing of his large intestine.

"I feel great. I think I've drank more things and (had) more probes . . ., he said Wednesday. "They're saying now that it'll probably be sometime late Friday before they have all the results. We'll have to hear about that. I think everything's fine."
