Abstract (Document Summary)

McLEAN REBUTS PERJURY CHARGE: In response to a complaint filed with the Florida Bar Association, an attorney for state public counsel Harold McLean rebutted allegations that McLean had perjured himself in a May deposition about a Progress Energy Florida rate refund. Consumer activist Peggy Arvanitas of Seminole filed the complaint in October, alleging that McLean committed perjury in statements about the Florida Public Service Commission's handling of staff recommendations. McLean, who was PSC general counsel at the time, testified truthfully during the deposition and properly executed his duties during the appeal of another PSC decision, McLean's attorney John A. Weiss said in the response.
