"It's possible while we're tying in the new lanes that there'll be some lane restrictions," [Jim Pinkerton] said.

Pinkerton said that's when the intersection with Lincoln Way East will go under construction, which could lead to lane restrictions at the heavily traveled intersection.

"It will take away that weird jag and make the intersection a nice straight shot," Pinkerton said. "It should make it a lot safer."
