"I don't know which one's right," said 24-year-old Brandon Stambolli last month as he stood outside Archies, a local diner. "I've never thought about it."

"In town it's Lincolnway, one word; but in the county it's Lincoln Way, two words," [Fern Eddy Schultz] said. "I don't know why."

"In this day and age you can spell it either way, and it's accepted," [Ken Layton], the county commissioner, said. "I don't think anyone's going to tie you down on the courthouse lawn for the way you spell it."
