Abstract (Document Summary)

In England Patrick Kluivert's proposed #9m move from AC Milan to Manchester United is off, according to sources in Italy. It is believed that a meeting between officials from the Italian club and the player's agent in Milan yesterday resulted in Kluivert agreeing to stay with the Serie A club.

[John Gregory] wanted Andy Cole in part exchange for the #15m-rated [Dwight Yorke], but he said: "I don't think United have conducted matters par- ticularly well and Dwight must be wondering if they really want him."

Meanwhile, Gregory looks to be scuppered in his bid to bring Juninho back to England. He was expected to open talks today with the player over a #12m deal but his agent, Gianni Paladini, insisted Villa had no chance of landing the player from Atletico Madrid at that price.
