Despite recent criticism that there are too many "fly on the wall" documentaries about real people on the go, the BBC yesterday unveiled a raft of new ones - Lakesiders, centred on the Essex shopping mall, Parking, about traffic wardens, and Hunting, about the countryside. Parking, coming to a screen near you in May, is destined to make stars of Ray, a clamper who used to be a Pontins bluecoat, former rugby forward [John McArdle], who tows cars away, and single mother Sandy, whose job supports her family of four.
