FAMILY AFFAIR Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone was born on July 6, 1946, in New York to parents Jackie and Frank Stallone. Sly's father, an Italian immigrant, was a hairdresser, while his mother had various jobs, including a dancer and an astrologer. He also has a younger brother, Frank Stallone, who is an actor and musician. EARLY CAREER Up until Rocky in 1976, Stallone's appearances were limited to bit parts in film's such as Woody Allen's Bananas and The Prisoner of Second Avenue alongside Jack Lemmon.
