MC Plat'num, real name Marcel Sommerville, is a member of R'n'B group Blazin' Squad. He competed in the Channel 4 reality show The Games earlier this year which featured 10 celebrities competing against each other in Olympic-style events. He won the silver medal. "I used to eat a lot of kebabs. I was told that although shish kebabs were basically okay, eating too many of them isn't good for your heart. So I started eating more vegetables and fruit. There are so many nice things out there which I never used to eat but now love, such as avocados. "I used to have Rocky as my MC name, after the film character. He came from nothing and started training and training and training and then winning championships. Those films were a big inspiration to me when I was young. They made me want to go out and achieve bigger stuff. As for real sporting heroes, when I was younger I used to love Linford Christie and wanted to be like him. I also liked Muhammad Ali because he was the greatest." Reproduced with permission of the copyright owner. Further reproduction or distribution is prohibited without permission.
