BEILSTEIN, PATRICIA "PAT" ROSE Age 82 - Homemaker Pat was born August 18, 1925, at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, California. She died on June 11, 2008, in La Mesa, CA. In the 1930's, Pat was a relief papergirl for the San Diego Union. Pat attended San Diego High School and graduated from Cradock High School in Ports-mouth, VA in 1943. She worked at the Navy yard in Norfolk, VA during World War II. Before getting married to her husband Howard, she worked at Union Title in San Diego. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard of 47 years. During the 1960's, she played the organ at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in El Cajon, CA. She played the organ at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Riverside, CA during the 1970's. At one time she was a member of the San Diego Finch Society and North County Aviculturists. She loved bowling and golfing. Pat loved her family, friends, her dogs, her music, her garden and her soap operas. She loved to travel, loved to read and was a great fan of the San Diego Chargers, Padres and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Alan and Carol Beilstein of El Cajon, CA; a daughter and son-in-law Sharon and John Ball of Reno, NV; a daughter Debra Beilstein of Lake Forest, CA; a grand-daughter Amy Ball of Los Angeles, CA; a grandson Brian Ball of Reno, NV and grand-daughters Alana and Cambria Beilstein both of El Cajon, CA. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite animal charity or shelter. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 11 a.m., Saturday, June 21st, with a private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

PIERCE Jr., DDS, CAPTAIN JOHN PHILLIP Captain John Phillip Pierce, Jr., DDS died Friday, June 13, 2008 two weeks before his 57th birthday. John was born in Paxton, Illinois to Marion Lou Fasking and John Phillip Pierce Sr. on June 23, 1951. John moved to Mesa, Arizona with his parents and siblings Gary, Kathy, and Leigh Ann in 1960 where he would spend the remainder of his childhood years. Their family would be added upon by step-father Fred Iserman and brothers Brian and Lance Iserman. He graduated Mesa High school in 1969. One of the greatest experiences of John's life was his two year service in the Manitoba Minnesota Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. There he learned the joy of serving others and strengthened his testimony of the gospel. As John's professional pursuits came into focus he graduated from Southern Missouri University cum laude with a BS in Biological Sciences. John received his doctorate in dental surgery from the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Dentistry. While in dental school met and soon married Connie Lynnett Head. Their marriage would later be solemnized in the Dallas, TX temple. John, Connie, and his three children Rebecca, Pamela, and Daniel became a forever family. John started a dental practice in Kansas City, Kansas while his new bride began her own journey through dental school. Their family quickly grew to five with Brittany and Brandon. They accepted a commission to join the US Navy and soon thereafter Blake and Brooklyn entered the family. John began his remarkable Naval career at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, CA in 1987 as a Lieutenant. John served two six month deployments to the Persian Gulf aboard the USS Acadia and the USS Constellation. He was selected for post-graduate training and completed a prosthodontics program at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. He was then stationed as the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Branch Dental Director. John was subsequently ranked the number one Commander in the Pacific Fleet. He also served in Miramar and North Island where has was promoted to the ranks of Captain. John was a peacemaker. He was humble and curious. John was brilliant without arrogance, professional, honest, respectful, and wise. He was no respecter of persons. John treated seaman and admiral with the same care and compassion. His balm was a good book and a warm bath. He loved his wife without question. He gave her wings to fly. He loved his children unconditionally. He gave them the best of examples. John was preceded in death by his father, John Phillip Pierce Sr. John is survived by his mother, Marion Iserman, his beloved wife Connie, and his seven children Rebecca, Pamela, Daniel, Brittany, John Brandon, Blake, and Brooklyn.
