Study says cutting services to migrants might backfire

[Todd Eisenstadt] said he originally hoped his study would balance recent well-publicized reports on the costs of undocumented immigrants to San Diego County by showing their economic benefits. It takes aim at what Eisenstadt terms "myths and oversimplifications", beliefs that immigrants are drawn by social services such as Medi-Cal, drain the U.S. economy without making contributions, and can be easily uprooted and sent back to their countries of origin. yet that's not the prevailing image in Sacramento or Washington, said Eisenstadt, who criticized recent reports commissioned by California legislators and statements from Gov.
