He nearly made an NBA roster coming out of college, but was cut by the Miami Heat just before training camp ended. [...] after playing professional basketball in Europe last year, he's back in the U.S. again trying to make an NBA roster. In 23 games, Padgett averaged 6.2 points and 6.3 rebounds over roughly 21 minutes per game, leading the Blazers to invite him to their summer league camp.
