THE LATEST ENTRY into the baseball video sweepstakes is Scholastic Lorimar's The Baseball Bunch, a series of three cassettes that teach fundamentals of hitting, fielding and pitching by former Cincinnati Reds catcher Johnny Bench and a group of eight children. The three hour-long cassettes retail for $19.95 each. CAPTAIN KANGAROO is no stranger to television and now he's into video. Bob Keeshan, the Captain himself, has compiled a series of sketches from the TV show and repackaged them as Captain Kangaroo's Scary Tales and Silly Stories. Scary stories include the monster in the London fog who turns out to be the Easter Bunny and The Underground Adventures of Famous Amy about a girl who rides an eerie subway train in search of "the great table knife, the fabulous fork and the splendid spoon." The kids might just find the whole cassette splendid. Reproduced with permission of the copyright owner. Further reproduction or distribution is prohibited without permission.
