Abstract (Document Summary)

[Steve Tosches] also conferred with his old URI coach, Bob Griffin. "In times of true stress, you need people like that," Tosches said.

Tosches played quarterback at URI in 1977 and 1978 and ranks sixth on URI's career passing list. In 1978 he completed 61 percent of his passes, which remains a URI record.

Tosches started his college career under Griffin at Idaho State. He followed Griffin to URI in 1976 and sat out one season under NCAA rules for a transfer. He also coached for Griffin in 1980 before joining [Ron Rogerson] at Maine in 1981.
