Providence Journal
-
Providence, R.I.
[Frank Sieverts] said he was uncertain when [Claiborne Pell] would arrive, how long he would stay or whether he would be accompanied by any of the other 11 senators attending arms control talks in Geneva with him. Pell was a Foreign Service officer assigned to Bratislava, a city on the Danube River in southern Czechoslovakia, when the troops invaded, Sieverts said. Before that, he had been assigned to Prague, Sieverts said. Reproduced with permission of the copyright owner. Further reproduction or distribution is prohibited without permission.
