Abstract (Document Summary)

[Guy Magar] went broke coming up with the $475,000 budget for his film and had to cut deals with Panavision and film labs so that the finished product would look a lot more expensive. He still hasn't found an angel to give him his first break. So he's releasing Lookin' Italian himself, city by city, with Providence as the first stop.

Magar hopes to open his film in the Boston area following its Rhode Island run at three theaters because that would put it in [Matt LeBlanc]'s backyard. But he adds that despite LeBlanc's new higher profile status, Friends is an ensemble show and it will take a little while for the young actor's star to really shine across America and help Lookin' Italian find a distributor.

Writer, director and producer Guy Magar used his personal funds to produce Lookin' Italian, starring Matt LeBlanc (Friends). He couldn't find a distributor for it either. So he's doing it himself. The first city on his city-by-city roll out of the movie is Providence.
