The sixth-year quarterback capped the greatest comeback of his professional career last night when he lofted a 25-yard touchdown pass to Shawn Jefferson with 29 seconds to go, lifting the Pats to an improbable 26-23 victory over the Miami Dolphins.
He hit on 6 of 14 throws for all 80 yards the Pats needed in their game-winning drive, which began with 3:16 to go after tailback Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had given the Dolphins a 23-19 lead with a 4-yard yard.
But [Drew] Bledsoe rallied the Pats in the closing minutes, hitting tight end Ben Coates with a clutch 10-yard pass at the New England 47 in a third-and-10 play with about two minutes to go.
