Abstract (Document Summary)

The last time we spoke to former Belly bassist Gail Greenwood, she was working with a new band called Walter in the wake of Belly's breakup. But that was before she got the call to join the women of L7, the take-no-prisoners California punk/metaloutfit.

"I feel like I'm home. I've never been happier," said Greenwood on the phone from New York City. Her voice was still recovering from the night before, when L7 held its record release party to celebrate the release of its latest record, TheBeauty Process: Triple Platinum.

"When L7 calls, you gotta serve your country. You can'tdeny the rock," said Greenwood, who added that she and the rest of the band hit it off immediately. "I haven't had this much fun in a band since Boneyard (Greenwood's pre-Belly band). And this time, I'm getting paid for it!"
