"If you don't have insurance, what are you going to do?" According to the Ottawa County Community Health Assessment released earlier this year, the percentage of county adults who have seen a dentist in the preceding year was down from the last assessment done in 2006 -- 63 percent compared to 66 percent. Nancy Osborn, the commissioner of the health department, said she has no statistics that explain why a smaller percentage of Ottawa County adults have been going to the dentist regularly -- but she feels the downturn in the economy since 2006 could be a big factor.
