Cause of the fire is unknown pending an investigation by a state fire marshal from Hartford City who was expected on the scene later Monday. Spartanburg School was closed in January 1976, and grade school students were sent to Randolph Southern Elementary and middle school students to Randolph Southern Junior-Senior High.
