Absentee ballots are a special concern because state law creates an opportunity for a third party to carry an absentee ballot from the hands of the voter to the elections office. Seven years ago, widespread problems were found with absentee ballots in a Miami mayor's race. The election result was overturned. Such an outcome in the Orlando case is highly unlikely because the ballot problem -- if there is one -- is not widespread. It is focused on Ezzie Thomas, who has handled absentee ballots in several local elections.
