Abstract (Document Summary)

The album closes with the gentle and warm "Brand New Day," but an earlier number best captures the spirit of Eurythmics' musical and thematic moves. "You Have Placed a Chill in My Heart" is a wonderful Motown-ish mix of synthesizer pop and soul on which [Annie Lennox] proclaims "Love is hot and love is cold/ love is rock and love is roll." And Eurythmics' hot and cold rock 'n' roll on [Savage] is easy to love.
