Public Enemy's new Def Jam Records album, It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back, has gone gold -- meaning sales of 500,000 albums, cassettes and/ or compact discs -- less than a month after its release. What makes that such a surprise is that the disc performed this feat without a promotional push from Def Jam's distributor, Columbia Records.
