The connection between daily stress and high blood pressure has not been proven. Stressful episodes can cause blood pressure to shoot up, and stress-reduction techniques, such as biofeedback and meditation, can temporarily decrease blood pressure. But no one knows for sure to what extent chronic stress contributes to long-term hypertension.
