That means that even though you are not being sexually harassed by your boss, the fact that you are not having an affair with him is hindering your ability to advance in your career.

If your company has fewer than 15 employees, it's too small to be covered under the federal anti-discrimination laws. So if the boss is the owner, then you might be out of luck. Your only recourse, if you're gutsy enough, is to go to the boss, tell him how you feel and try to get him to change his ways. Obviously, you'll be putting your job on the line.
