After a year of rumors about its closing, the Magic Kingdom's Mr. Toad is set to take his last Wild Ride on Monday.

Walt Disney World officials will announce today that, indeed, the dark and zany Mr. Toad's Wild Ride will close after Monday and be replaced next year by the Many Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh.

There was a "Save Mr. Toad" Web site, as well as postcards, T- shirts and low-key protests, called "Toad-Ins," outside the ride. The supporters are planning a final gathering outside the ride on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m.
