BATTERY LIGHT LEAVES OWNER IN THE DARK
[FINAL Edition]

Orlando, Fla.
Question: I have a 1992 Toyota. My battery/brake light on the dash flickers on and off. My mechanic's diagnosis was alternator failure, and he replaced it, but after a few days, the light came back on. Then the mechanic said the brake-master-cylinder-fluid- level indicator was defective, so that was replaced. A day later the light is back on. He has indicated that Toyota used the same circuit for brake-and-battery indicator lights, so that is why it says battery and brake. Can you help?
