Abstract (Document Summary)

Burger King Holdings Inc., the second-largest U.S. hamburger chain, plans to switch to trans fat-free oil in the United States and Canada by late 2008 and has begun testing alternatives at some restaurants. The healthier oil will be used in New York before that city's ban on frying with trans fats takes effect in July, the Miami-based company said Wednesday. Burger King has been working on formulating the oil for two years.
