Abstract (Document Summary)

Cops said Lerome Hilson, 29, of Bristow Street in The Bronx, walked in on [Tim Moore], 50, while he was going over bills in the basement office at the trendy Union Square eatery on Saturday morning.

Detectives are also considering the theory that Hilson and Moore never got along, and may have exchanged angry words - prompting the porter to attack, with robbery as an afterthought, the sources said.

Hilson, who was hired through a Bowery Mission program, had been in run-ins with his boss before - including one instance when Moore turned down the ex-con for a raise, the sources said. But Hilson was still entrusted with a set of keys to the restaurant, which boasts Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Madonna as patrons.
